Surviving the Coronavirus Impact

Creating a plan for change and adjusting to a new normal …

Each of us has been impacted by the current global pandemic and the disruption that it has caused to “business as normal”.  We have all been forced to create plans to continue business while social distancing to protect ourselves and others in the process.  Almost overnight, we have been confronted with a new invisible challenge that affects our lives, livelihoods, economic futures and immediate projects and plans.  We are all being faced with the reality that to survive we must adapt and change to adjust to our new circumstances.

But we are strong.  We have come through challenging situations before and we can do so again.  Together we can work to forge new alliances, and create new strengths that will carry us forward into a better future.

Our proactive teams remain vigilant and agile so that we can continue to respond in a way that protects our people and our customers while still serving our very essential business partners. To this point, all of the states who have gone to some form of “Shelter-in-Place” or “Stay at Home” mandate have defined electricians and those of us considered as their supply chain as “essential.”

Our branches are open, and ready to serve you and the vital role you play in sustaining essential infrastructure and ensuring critical power supply demands are met.  As such, we want to update you on some of the measures we have put in place to ensure we can meet these priorities:

Employee Support 

Our branches remain open and ready to service our customers.  To safeguard our ability to serve you, we’ve limited our in-person interactions with customers, vendors and each other by implementing travel restrictions, new ordering and will call pick-up processes, and providing the resources necessary to conduct meetings virtually. We’ve also taken the precautionary step to cancel or postpone upcoming events hosted by Womack.  Many of our employees are working from home and providing virtual service and support to our customers across the communities that Womack serves.

Branch Cleanliness and Safety

We’ve provided our branches with a cleaning checklist and the critical disinfectants to maintain a clean environment.

Supply Chain and Inventory

Our parent company, Crescent Electric Supply completed a comprehensive review of inventory positioning. Over 85% of supplies are manufactured in the United States. Additionally, they’ve analyzed over 12,000 SKU’s that could be potentially impacted, and they were pleased to report that as a whole, inventory remains healthy and well-stocked above the target days’ time supply of 100 days.

Jonathan Pennypacker, Account Manager in Greenville, NC is this quarter’s recipient of the Womack Way Employee Award.

The quarterly award is bestowed upon the employee that has best demonstrated what “The Womack Way” is about. What does that entail … it’s “What Customer Service is About!” … attentiveness to our customers and their needs, clear communication skills, willingness to learn (new products, new skills), a positive attitude, time management skills, and being a team player.

Each quarter, the employee that is chosen will earn a $100 gift card and Womack Way trophy.
