At times, due to market constraints caused by higher costs from raw material suppliers, shortages, tariffs, labor and other continued cost factors, vendors will notify us of supply chain disruptions and implementation of price adjustments. When these notifications occur, we seek to quickly make you aware of the changes.  We understand you have ongoing jobs and contractual obligations.  We share in the concerns of our customers regarding the financial impacts related to these changes and we wish to work closely with you to mitigate the effects of market price fluctuations.

Commodities Report

Commodity Report – April 2025 (Source: Atkore – Electrical Products Commodity Update)

Summary
• All metal prices (steel, copper, aluminum) increased in March from the prior month following the implementation of tariffs. Although PVC resin also increased, HDPE resin prices were essentially flat to the prior two months.
• February’s Architectural Billings Index (ABI) remained weak, while the AIA comments flagged tariff related uncertainty and immigration policy as incremental pressures.
• The Dodge Momentum Index (DMI), a measure of non-residential projects entering planning, fell in March as weaker planning activity for warehouses, data centers and retail stores drove the decline, while offices and hotels gained.
• Residential spending rose despite high interest rates, as a structural shortfall of housing continues to support construction of new single-family homes.
• Nonresidential construction spending was broadly positive in February, however uncertainty regarding trade policy has reduced visibility for the path ahead.

Tariff Update
• Trade policy is currently in flux. Though the reciprocal tariffs now appear to be suspended, China is still subject to levies of over 100%.
• As for Canada, there are no new changes to tariffs. Canada has initiated retaliatory tariffs against the US that reflect 25% on steel and aluminum.
• Roughly 10% of construction materials are imported, not far above the all-industry average. Select inputs are imported in relatively higher shares: major household appliances, lighting, HVAC and plumbing.
• Most economists forecast weaker growth, higher inflation and increased unemployment. Recent economic forecasts have increased the probability of a recession, especially if we see large retaliation from our trading partners.

Steel Update
• Steel costs up 4 consecutive months.
• Hot Rolled up 11% in March.
• Cold Rolled up 11% in March.
• Mills pushing price up anticipating increased demand
• Government announced import tariffs on steel and aluminum. Fluid situation as negotiations continue. Current View (Can Always
Change) Mexico & Canada 25%, China 25%+25%+20% = 70%, All other countries on steel products 25%.

PVC Resin Update
• March domestic price increased 2%.
• Domestic volume increased 3% month over month.
• Export pricing increased 5% month over month.
• Export volume decreased 4% month over month.
• Domestic operating rates are running at ~80%, up 6% month over month.

Copper Update
• March Comex averaged a record high $4.91 – up 8%from February and up 24% over last March.
• The year-to-date average now stands at a new high of $4.57.
• Copper held in Comex warehouses rose to roughly 88,500metric tons.
• Total inventories of copper held in Comex, LME, and Shanghai warehouses fell roughly 80,000 metric tons to close March at 535,000 metric tons.

Aluminum Update
• March LME aluminum averaged $1.20 and was flat from February.
• The year-to-date average now stands at $1.19.
• The U.S. Midwest aluminum premium surged to a high of $0.42 cents per pound, more thana 60% increase since the start of the year
• LME average aluminum inventories further decreased to roughly 494,000metric tons in March.

HDPE Resin Update
• HDPE domestic prices settled flat for March.
• Producers have announced a $0.05/# increase for April.
• Domestic demand decreased 2.2% in February. March data is unpublished.
• Domestic volume was down 3.4% in February. March data is unpublished.
• Operating rates were 95.3% in February and are expected to remain above 90% for March.

Freight Update
• Load to truck ratios are increasing due to the start of produce season.
• Diesel Fuel has decreased 16% since January 2024 but has remained relatively flat in 2025.
• Flatbed load-to-truck ratio have increased to 40/1 from30/1 last month.
